چکیده
Dielectric elastomers are a class of solid polymeric materials that sufficiently soft to deform under the application an electric field due interaction quasi-static charges. Their potential undergo large deformations renders them promising candidates for design energy harvesters, sensors and actuators. For their however, influence additional thermal effects should be taken into account as base frequently show distinct sensitivity drastically influences mechanical response. This contribution presents results wide range experiments conducted on popular dielectric elastomer VHB 4905™ combination mechanical, loading scenarios. These performed in such way obtained well suited identification necessary material parameters appearing thermo–electro–viscoelastic constitutive model will subsequently presented second part contribution.

High-performance electromechanical transduction using laterally-constrained dielectric elastomers part I: Actuation processes
A dielectric elastomer transducer is a deformable capacitor, and is under development as a sensor, actuator, or generator. Among various geometric configurations, laterallyconstrained transducer, also known as pure-shear transducer, is easy to implement and effective to couple mechanical force and electrical voltage. This analytical study reveals that lateral pre-stretch enhances actuation, far...

متن کاملPropagation of instability in dielectric elastomers
When an electric voltage is applied across the thickness of a thin layer of an dielectric elastomer, the layer reduces its thickness and expands its area. This electrically induced deformation can be rapid and large, and is potentially useful as soft actuators in diverse technologies. Recent experimental and theoretical studies have shown that, when the voltage exceeds some critical value, the ...
